Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, multi-instrumentalist Ben Bollero has enjoyed much musical success despite his young age. As an elementary school student, Ben learned that his grandfather played violin, and soon afterwards he picked up the instrument himself. By middle school, after watching a performance of Eric Clapton, he knew that he had to learn how to play guitar as well. By high school, Ben knew that he wanted a career that offered financial stability, job security, and retirement benefits, so naturally he chose to study music at Southern Illinois University. Ben genuinely enjoys playing in all sorts of musical settings- orchestras, pits, bands, and alone after everyone else has gone home.
Ben currently enjoys an active career playing all over Illinois. He currently sits as acting concertmaster of the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Edward Benyas, where he made his national television debut as a featured electric violin soloist with rock band Head East, with a planned release in 2016. He also plays consistently in pit orchestras, with personal favorites including Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell on guitar, and Hansel and Gretel and Peter Pan on violin.
Ben plans to make his home in the Chicagoland area after graduation.
